Karin’s Loire Holiday Cottages Blog – L’Auberge des Isles Montreuil Bellay
Wow, what a fabulous lunch we enjoyed last week at the Auberge des Isles Montreuil Bellay.
Simon and I met up with friends at the Monthly Antiques Market in Montreuil Bellay and decided to try the Auberge des Isles for a spot of Sunday lunch. It was the only restaurant with seating outside that day. Why this should be I really don’t know as the sun was shining – just look at the photo!
The food was excellent. Goats cheese wrap and herb salad first course followed by a vegetable penne for the girls and steaks for the boys. All declared the food to be outstanding.
The restaurant is mid priced and we thought, good value for money considering the quality of the food.
Of course no Sunday lunch taken on a warm picturesque terrace is complete without a glass of chilled wine. A carafe of Sauvignon and then a carafe of a lively pink was languidly imbibed while enjoying the riverside views.
I have no hesitation in recommending L’ Auberge des Isles, particularly if the weather is good as the setting would take some beating.
